Content Entry Specialist

As a member of Cross & Crown’s Web team, the primary role of our Content Entry Specialist is to build out developed websites within WordPress in a high-quality, creative, and detail-oriented manner. This position reports directly to the Web & Digital Ops Lead and works closely with the web development team to ensure that every site we launch not only looks great but also functions seamlessly. This role is also responsible for training clients on how to use and manage their WordPress websites, ensuring a smooth hand-off and ongoing client satisfaction.

What we can expect from you

  • 2 –4+ years experience with WordPress
  • A strong understanding of custom WordPress themes
  • Detail-oriented and skillful use of page builders and themespecific features to creatively format webpages
  • Experience formatting long-form content with mixed media types (text, image galleries, videos, downloadable files, etc.)
  • Knowledge of responsive design principles and basic layout troubleshooting
  • Ability to manage time and balance multiple active projects
  • Self-motivated to deliver quality work without constant oversight
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A collaborative spirit and a willingness to receive and implement constructive feedback
  • Proficient with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Calendar)

What would make you stand out:

  • Familiarity with WordPress themes and ACF based page builders
  • Proficient with Basecamp, Slack, and Zoom
  • Experience with the WordPress launch process
  • Experience using SEO plugins like Yoast or All In One SEO to optimize page content
  • Ability to make very basic HTML and CSS adjustments
  • Familiarity with cross-browser compatibility and accessibility best practices
  • Comfort facilitating 1:1 or group WordPress training sessions with clients of varying technical skill levels
  • Experience using and updating WordPress plugins
  • Ability to complete imports and exports of varying complexity utilizing plugins or built-in WordPress tools
  • Prior experience working in a creative or digital agency environment

What your day might look like:

  • Entering content into WordPress sites using provided designs, content, and structure guidelines
  • Formatting and styling pages for consistency and readability
  • Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot design or functionality issues encountered while entering content
  • Finalize outstanding project tasks for launch, collaborate with the Project Manager to facilitate launch, and complete post-launch tasks
  • Uploading and organizing media files, blog posts, and theme specific post  types
  • Creating client training documentation or videos
  • Hosting client WordPress training sessions
  • Communicate progress to the Web Operations Lead and collaborate with project teams
