Disrupting an Industry

Recognizing the lack of good solutions in the on-demand beauty industry, Bloom’d sought a design partner who could help them take their idea and form it into a reality. With a proven concept and investor funding, Cross & Crown was brought in to develop a brand and mobile app, as well as plan and execute a digital strategy to break Bloom’d into the on-demand beauty industry.

After a discovery meeting with Bloom’d, the Cross & Crown design team took what we learned and followed up with researching the beauty industry to see where we could take the brand.

As a startup company looking to break into the beauty industry, Bloom’d needed to have a logo that was fresh, distinguished, and flexible enough to work through their digital strategy.

Mobile App

For Customers & Professionals

While planning the app with Bloom’d leadership, we found it was best to create two separate apps; one for customers, and one for beauty professionals. This would alleviate complex scheduling issues that arose within a single app, and allow for further customization and notifications.

Unique features were developed specifically for both customers and professionals: hair and skin preferences, a styling portfolio, reviews and ratings, and even the ability to tip a professional.


A Foundational Approach

As part of our digital strategy plan, our design team partnered with Bloom’d leadership to design and develop a website that highlights their app products and directs users towards downloading one of their two apps. Our final product was a clean and responsive experience aligned towards their content and digital strategy goals.

We initially inquired about developing our mobile app and realized we needed an enhanced website. Our previous website appeared to be dull, scattered, and lacked the “wow” factor. The Cross & Crown team quickly assessed our needs and efficiently produced a solution for us. The transformation from the previous site to the new one amazed us.

As part of our digital strategy plan, we created customer-oriented blog content for the Bloom’d marketing site to boost their expertise and help increase their position within search engine results. In addition, we fine-tuned the SEO structure within the Bloom’d marketing site and tailored page content to help stand out among the competition.
