We think that it’s fun to hear more about the ideas and inspiration behind the work that we are all so proud of and we hope that this “peek behind the scenes” will inspire others as well. Today one of our developers, John Starr, tells us how Hope Inspire Love became one of his favorite projects.
Together we are shining a light on human trafficking and being a voice for the voiceless.
Hope Inspire Love is one of my favorite projects I’ve worked on. This nonprofit works to fight human trafficking through outreach and awareness, prevention, and partnerships. We partnered with them to build their current website. This project is a favorite because I got to be a part of their work to end trafficking and also because this is a great example of the types of clients we get to work with every day: passionate people who want to make a difference in the world.
Hope Inspire Love’s website is very large with numerous design elements. They needed an easy way to customize various aspects of the site on their own so we created a page builder in the back end so they could uniquely arrange many different types of design blocks on their own. This required some complex coding, but also provided the client with a powerful design tool that helped them be creative with their pages, while simultaneously keeping all of their design elements within their branding.
The work we did on the website elevates awareness about human trafficking as a whole while also helping Hope Inspire Love fulfill their mission to put an end to human trafficking, child and sex exploitation, and modern-day slavery. The site navigation, imagery, iconography, and presentation of content serve as a powerful communication tool helping this organization amplify their important message and the urgency of the needs at hand. There is also a dynamic banner on every page directing viewers to get help or report trafficking.
Hope Inspire Love is making a significant impact in the world through their work. The statistics surrounding human trafficking and modern-day slavery are horrifying. But creating this website gives the organization and those connected with it the resources and tools they need to take action. Issues like human trafficking are tragic and overwhelming. It can be difficult to know where to start or how to help. But Hope Inspire Love makes it easy to get involved and the website serves as a hub to resource the community with information and opportunities to be a part of the solution.
I chose this line of work because I’ve always enjoyed working with computers and creating things with computers. Whether it be websites, smartphone apps or web apps, I’ve always enjoyed creating things that help people solve problems. Having the opportunity to play a small part in solving such a huge problem is very rewarding and I am proud to have worked on this project for Hope Inspire Love.
