Digital Copywriter

As a member of Cross & Crown’s marketing team, the primary role of our Digital Copywriter is to work closely with our Digital Marketing Director and Digital Content Specialist to implement strategic written solutions for our diverse range of clientele. Cross & Crown is seeking an associate- to mid-level copywriter with demonstrated expertise in digital copywriting. This team member must be able to pivot through numerous brand voices on a daily basis in order to produce branded messaging for each client and their unique digital marketing strategy.

  • **A proofreading proficiency test will be administered to all interview candidates. A passing score of 90% is required to be considered for this role.**

What we can expect from you

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Marketing/Creative agency experience (3–5 years minimum)
  • Experience writing copy for digital marketing collateral (3-5 years minimum)
  • A Bachelor’s degree in English, marketing, public relations, communications, or a related field
  • Proven experience implementing SEO best practices for keyword optimization of blog and web content
  • Superior spelling, grammar, and proofreading skills
  • Demonstrated expertise crafting concise, short-form content, including but not limited to: website copy, social media content, digital ads, and e-newsletters/emails
  • Knowledgeable of digital marketing best practices, the content marketing cycle, and marketing vocabulary
  • Established track record of managing a dynamic workload of numerous client accounts across varying industries and brand voices
  • You thrive in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment and can pivot daily tasks quickly while managing conflicting priorities
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills to provide effective support to a growing number of client accounts
  • You enjoy the research component of copywriting for marketing
  • You are an excellent listener and communicator
  • Ability to collaborate and work well as a team

What would make you stand out

Experience & Ability:

  • Proficiency using Semrush to conduct competitor keyword research to produce keyword-rich blog content
  • Proficiency with the following digital tools and platforms, including, but not limited to: Google Analytics, Google Ads, Semrush, AdEspresso, Meta Business Suite, Canva, MailChimp, Flodesk, Constant Contact, and Klaviyo
  • Experience implementing StoryBrand messaging concepts
  • Experience using digital proofreading tools
  • Experience using various AI platforms
  • Experience using Basecamp
  • Experience using Google Workspace, especially Gmail, Google Sheets, and Google Calendar
  • Experience using Slack
  • Experience using WordPress

What your day might look like

Practical daily application of skills:

  • Managing a high-volume of diverse writing assignments in a fast-paced environment
  • Utilizing Semrush to conduct keyword research for blogs and assist with SEO optimization
  • Planning content strategy for each client’s monthly deliverables
  • Writing, proofreading, editing, and updating content for client social media platforms, websites, blogs, marketing materials, emails, newsletters, and other digital marketing media
  • Researching various topics to craft well-worded and on-brand messaging for each client
  • Collaborating with other members of our marketing and production teams to develop ideas and submitting content for review to the Digital Marketing Director and/or Digital Content Specialist
