FAQs
What is virtual production?
Virtual production is hands-on, real-time support for online training, webinars, and virtual events. A Cross & Crown producer runs everything behind the scenes, from screen sharing and breakout rooms to polls and chat, so your presenters can focus on their content and their audience.
What does a virtual event producer do during a session?
Your producer manages screen sharing, breakout rooms, video playback, and transitions between sessions. They moderate chat and Q&A, launch polls, troubleshoot audio and platform issues as they come up, and keep the agenda on time even when plans change at the last minute.
How do you prepare before an event?
Every event starts with a pre-production meeting and a detailed run-of-show, a minute-by-minute schedule that guides the event from start to finish. We use that time to agree on who handles what, such as the facilitator sharing slides while the producer runs videos, and to plan for likely schedule changes. We keep the technical setup as simple as your goals allow, because every added piece of complexity is one more thing that can go wrong.
Why hire a production team instead of a single freelancer?
A solo producer is a single point of failure. If that person has an emergency or runs into a major technical problem, your event is exposed. Cross & Crown assigns a lead producer backed by a support team, so if one producer is unavailable, another steps in without missing a beat.
Which platforms and formats do you support?
We work in Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex, and other virtual environments, and we adapt to the platform your organization already uses. We produce leadership development, compliance training, coaching programs, multi-day webinars, and sensitive government sessions, from small group workshops to week-long courses.
How does virtual production improve engagement?
Engaged participants learn more, and engagement depends on a session that flows. Your producer uses timed polls, clean breakout transitions, organized chat, and touches like music during breaks to keep people involved. We also stay current on new platform features and suggest them when they fit your goals.
What happens if something goes wrong during a live event?
We build margin into every event by setting up early and preparing the next element, whether a breakout room or a video, before its time slot. That leaves room to handle a dropped connection or failed webcam calmly, with backups of key materials like slides ready to go. We also plan each transition in advance, so most adjustments happen without participants ever noticing.
What should I ask before hiring a virtual event producer?
Ask how they handle emergencies and technical failures, whether they’ve produced events similar to yours, which platforms they know best, and how they keep attendees engaged. It’s also worth asking how they plan with facilitators beforehand, how they communicate with speakers during the event, and what feedback they provide afterward.
"I’ve had the pleasure of working with Tyler and Bryton on a couple virtual workshops, and I can confidently say they are true professionals. From the moment we started, their expertise in handling all the technical aspects of our multi-day sessions was clear. They make everything run smoothly, creating an engaging experience for all participants. What really stands out is how they can read the room and adjust the production on the fly to meet the needs of each session. I feel at ease knowing they’re in charge so I can focus on delivering content and engaging with the participants. I trust them to deliver a flawless virtual experience every time.”
